Oslo Fright Fest 2012

** Edited 18.09.12: **
Oslo Fright Fest has been postponed. New dates will be announced later, within a month or two.

The second edition of Oslo Fright Fest will be held at Vika Kino this year. This means 3 movie theaters ram packed with horror, gore, sci-fi and madness. Yay! Can’t wait!

I’ve seen a couple of the movies they will be screening, like Army Of Darkness, Hora and Livide.

Livide is a beautiful yet quirky little movie, made by the directors of Inside (a really gruesome French home-invasion movie. If you haven’t seen Inside – shame on you!) Check out the trailer for Livide here, if you dare

And check out the complete list of movies here. I’m really looking forward to Dredd, Excision, Inside The Whore and watching Livide on a big screen!

See ya there?

New York – 1975

I simply LOVE this photograph of Elsa Peretti taken by the amazing Helmut Newton. New York, 1975 for French Vogue.

Elsa Peretti is an Italian jewellery designer, and has designed many of Tiffany’s best-selling items including the famous ‘teardrop’ necklaces and ‘thumb’ vases in white.

Mrs Prong

is this really cute and feisty girl from London. She makes the most beautiful and kewl alternative jewellery – all by herself! If you want nipple covers, posture collars, chokers, bangles, necklaces, ties or earrings she can make them. And you’ll look damn good and get lots of attention when you go out.

Like the large spike choker, here on Norwegian popstarlet Alexandra Joner from a Vogue shoot.

Here’s a picture of me from the Costume Awards 2012, with a crystal bangle from Prong Jewellery, a taxidermy raccoon skull, bodyshaper from Rago and leggings from Charles of London – everything bought at Manillusion, of course ;) On our trip to London Edge earlier this week, we met Claire and ordered a bunch of new stuff for Manillusion. And she gave me the most awesome eyepatch! Can’t wait to use it!

Check out her site here or visit me at Manillusion to check out our selection of Prong Jewellery. ;)

Desperately seeking: The PERFECT red lipstick

On our way back from the London Edge Fashion Trade Fair I decided to try EVERY single red-looking lipstick in the taxfree shop. And I did… ALL of them!

Finding a lipstick that does a better job than MAC Cosmetics’ Pro Longwear Lipcreme Prolong turned out to be a difficult quest. I’m looking for a lipstick that stays in place, doesn’t smudge, doesn’t bleed, has a matte finish and looks and feels smooth even after a couple of hours.  MAC’s Prolong stays on forever and ever, doesn’t bleed and is perfect against my very light skin.

After working my way through every last shade of red at Heathrow Airport – I ended up buying these three:

  • Lancôme Rouge In Love Rouge Saint Honoré 181N
  • Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté 17 Rouge Muse
  • Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture The Mats 203 Rouge Rock

During the past 24 hours I have tried on the new lipsticks. Lancôme’s lipstick started bleeding fairly quick in addition to being much lighter on the lips than I anticipated. YSL’s Rouge Volupté smudges easily and is too shiny and greasy for my taste. The last one, YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture is the best of the three – with a matter finish. But still – MAC’s Pro Longwear Lipcreme Prolong is the far better one.

Does anybody know where my perfect firetruck red lipstick is hiding? Please help me! And believe me – I’ve exhausted the following brands, so there’s no point in recommending them to me: Yves Saint Laurent, Lancôme, IsaDora, Estee Lauder, Guerlain, Helena Rubenstein, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Christian Dior, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, Giorgio Armani, Sisley, L’Oreal, Maybelline, Max Factor, Nina Ricci, GloMinerals.
